Darulfatwa along with the associations and organisations it represents, would like to invite you all to take part in the special assembly dedicated for making supplication to Allah to bring to an end the hardships of the Palestinian people and to ease their pain and suffering

This assembly of support and prayer will be held on Saturday 10^th January 2009 at 8pm.

The chairman of Darulfatwa’s Statement on the Israeli Aggression against Gaza

His eminence Dr Sheikh Salim Alwan Alhassani called upon the Islamic world to show solidarity with the Palestinian people who are currently inflicted with a trial of misery and brutality brought on by the aggressive Israeli occupying forces. Dr. Salim Alwan Al-Hassani called on the societies of International Legitimacy and all peace loving people globally to intervene promptly to end this unjust offensive against the Palestinians civilians in Gaza, and to lift the blockade imposed on them."

 Fasting the Day of ^Ashoura'

^Ashura' day lies on the 10th day of Muharram. Fasting the day of ^Ashura' has been unanimously agreed upon by scholars of Islam to be a sunnah deed.

Many great events in the history of Islam happened on the day of ^Ashura'. Some of which were as follows :
On this day, Allah saved Prophet Moses from the evil Pharaoh who drowned also on that day.
Allah accepted the repentance of Adam after he committed the small sin when he ate from the forbidden tree in Paradise. This was a small sin, however, not one that shows low self-respect.

Also on the day of ^Ashura' the Arc of Prophet Noah landed safely on the Mount of Al-Judiyy in Iraq after the flood .Al-Hussayn son of Imam ^Aliyy was martyred on that day and the battle of “Dhatur-Riqa^” took place on the tenth of Muharram as well.

Introduction

Allah sent many messengers to the humans as a mercy from Him. Allah sent them all to teach the people what is the correct and acceptable worship of Allah--their Creator and the Creator of everything. All the prophets of Allah, the first of whom was Adam and the last of whom is Muhammad, came with one Religion--Islam, one creed--the belief in the Oneness of Allah. They all taught that Allah is attributed with all the perfect attributes and that He does not resemble any of His creations. They taught what Allah ordered us to perform with and refrain from in this life. They taught there is the Judgment Day in which each one of us will be judged as to whether or not we fulfilled our obligations in this life. None of them taught their people what contradicts the belief in the Oneness of Allah. Each one of them ordered their followers to believe in the rest of the prophets. Imam al-Bukhariyy related
